Institut Bisnis IT&B Debate Team will represent North Sumatra Province in the National University Debating Championship (NUDC) 2025, which will take place this coming October at Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto – Central Java.
As part of implementing the National Talent Management program, the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia provides continuous development to produce outstanding talents in various fields, one of which is the National University Debating Championship (NUDC).
Inter-university debate competitions are an important part of competition in the global era. Such competitions encourage the development of various valuable skills in an increasingly complex global environment.

The NUDC competition has become a positive arena for students across Indonesia to showcase their best abilities in critical thinking and English communication, boost self-confidence, expand inter-university networks, and foster a sense of pride as the nation’s young generation.
The 2025 National Level NUDC brings together the best debate teams from across Indonesia. Using the parliamentary debate format, NUDC requires students not only to express ideas in English but also to master global knowledge, analyze, make judgments, and persuade the public.
In debates, students are confronted with real issues faced by a society or a nation.
Students must be able to take a stance and convince the public that their position is correct and appropriate. Therefore, debate serves as an ideal medium for training students’ negotiation and argumentation skills on an international scale.
Educational institutions in Indonesia should indeed hold intercollegiate debate competitions as a means of internalizing the spirit of positive competition that emphasizes communication and argumentation skills.
The Director of Student Affairs at IT&B Business Institute, Ir. Albert Masli, S.E., S.P., M.M., M.Pd., stated that IT&B Business Institute is proud to send its English Debate Team delegates, Carlos Wijaya and Zivanka Gonawi, to participate in the 2025 National Level NUDC.
Our delegation has gone through quite a long process, starting from the internal campus selection and then competing in the Regional Level NUDC. We are very grateful that our delegation succeeded in achieving 3rd Place in the North Sumatra Provincial Region on September 21, 2025. Therefore, Carlos Wijaya and Zivanka Gonawi will represent IT&B Business Institute and the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region I in this 2025 National Level NUDC competition,’ said Ir.
